Jill Christian is a visual artist working in Salem, Massachusetts.  Drawing inspiration from the landscape, sea, and sky, her paintings explore process, repetition, and color. Painterly marks move in and out of proximity and grid-like order. Patterns emerge, suggesting the flickering color and movement of water and sky, botanical motifs, or the warp and weft of fabrics and textiles.

Her work has been shown nationally, including at PaperWest (2019), Hardesty Art Center (Tulsa, OK), 516 ARTS’ New Mexico Showcase, and Art on the Edge at the New Mexico Museum of Art. She holds an MFA from Lesley University, a BFA from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and an MBA from the University of New Mexico. Her work is held in public and private collections including the City of Albuquerque, The Graham Collection, and the Amarillo Museum of Art.
