Kate Drewniak's mixed-media works blur the lines between painting, collage and sculpture. Her process includes hand painting paper, cutting, tearing, and sewing to reassemble layered pieces into a sculptural collage. She draws inspiration from colors and textures she encounters in nature and explores themes such as the fallibility of memory and the relationship between the body and mind.
Drewniak earned a BFA in Painting from Massachusetts College of Art and Design and she currently works in Salem, MA as part of the Gallows Hill Artist Studios community. Her work has been featured in Full Blede, Create! Magazine, and Boston Magazine.
