Amanda Brooks Skinner
She/Her/Hers
Amanda B. Skinner, MAT is a visual artist based in Ipswich, Massachusetts, working out of Gallows HIll Artist Studios in Salem. Her paintings explore breath, distortion, and the fragile boundary between life and death. She often blurs the line between serenity and chaos through layered compositions and painterly abstraction. She invites viewers into spaces that are visually dense and emotionally charged, confronting themes of discomfort, beauty, and perception.
Amanda holds a Master of Arts in Teaching Art from Salem State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art from Transylvania University, with minors in psychology and art history. In addition to her studio practice, she currently works at the Ipswich Museum as the Arts & Education Programs Manager and is an active member of the Ipswich Art Association.
