My name is Seseley Paige. I am a thirty-something transplant to Salem. I grew up in the very rural northwest region of Louisiana known as the “Ark-La-Tex.” After college, I spent several years living near New Orleans and the neighboring gulf coastline of Mississippi.
I have referred to myself as an artist since childhood. I was always working on creative projects and trying out new methods of expressing myself.
My primary creative focus nowadays is fashion design. I dabble in other artforms such as photography, watercolor, jewelry making and am a published poet.
While living on the gulf coast, I decided to take my passion for sustainable fashion a step further than what I was already doing, reselling vintage clothing on Etsy. I wanted to create my own designs. I completed a couple of basic sewing classes to get started on my machine; including a 4-week beginner sewing class with Fashion Designer, Nadine Gentles of Dorcas Couture in Biloxi, Mississippi (2022) and a Ready-to-Wear Construction class in Austin, Texas (2023). However, as a designer, I am 100% self-taught.
My first couple of collections were shown in Austin, Texas. Though I am an outsider in the fashion industry, I have since been invited to show my work in New York, Los Angeles and Paris.
